Summer brings longer days, more visitors, kids playing outside, evening walks, and increased activity throughout the neighborhood. To help keep our streets safe and accessible for everyone, please take a moment to review a few important parking reminders.
Under Texas Transportation Code Section 545.302, drivers may not park:
• On a sidewalk
• At an intersection
• On a crosswalk
• Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant
• Within 20 feet of a crosswalk
• In front of a driveway
• In a manner that blocks another vehicle (commonly called double parking)
We also want to remind residents and guests that while parking in front of a neighbor’s home is generally permitted on public streets, blocking a driveway or sidewalk may result in a citation.
A few extra summer considerations:
- Keep sidewalks clear for strollers, children, and neighbors using mobility devices
- Leave room for emergency and service vehicles to safely navigate the street
- Encourage guests to park thoughtfully during gatherings and events
Thank you for helping keep our community safe, welcoming, and accessible for everyone this summer!
