Trash & Utilities

Here is some information on the different utilities that service the neighborhood.

Trash & Recycling

Waste Connections provides trash and recycling pickup on Mondays (including most national holidays).

If you have bulk waste items that do not fit into your regular trash receptacle, please schedule and pay for a bulk waste pickup by calling the Customer Service Department at Waste Connections at (512) 282-3508. Bulk pickup is only included in our regular waste contract TWO TIMES per year (June 6 and October 17 for 2026), and the trucks that service our neighborhood are not equipped for large objects.

Mailboxes

For any questions regarding cluster mailboxes, your individual mailbox, mailbox keys, parcel lockers, missing mail, or missing packages, please contact your local Post Office: Bluebonnet Station on Braker Lane.

Electricity

Preston Village has deregulated electricity. As such, your electric service in Preston Village is comprised of two companies:

  • A Retail Electric Provider (REP). REPs do not generate or transmit power, they simply resell it. This is the company that you will sign up with for service, pay bills, etc. You can choose your own REP to suit your individual pricing needs.   • Oncor Power Delivery. Your electricity comes from Oncor regardless of which REP you sign up with, and Oncor’s base fees will be included in your REP electricity plan. To report a power outage, check on an outage status, or sign up for automated outage notifications, visit the Oncor Storm Center.

Water

Preston Village receives water from Austin Water Utility.

Natural Gas

Atmos Energy provides natural gas to homes on the following streets:

  • Betony St.
  • Celosia Cv.
  • Celosia St.
  • Cessida St.
  • Durian St.
  • Filaree St.
  • Lions Tail St.
  • Maysilee St.
  • Mesalla St.
  • Nightshade St.
  • Odair St.
  • Rooba St.
  • Windroot St.

All other homes (original “phase 1” section bordered by Grand Avenue Parkway, Hampton Bliss Trace, Kenter Crossing, and Serene Fleming Trace) do not receive natural gas service.
